Holidays Afloat in the Heart of Ireland
Carrick on Shannon is a lively town with a population of around 2,500. It is the largest cruising centre in Ireland. Historically, it has been one of the main crossing points on the beautiful Shannon River.
Today it is the starting point for most Shannon cruises as it offers many possibilities depending on the type of cruise you prefer.
The base is well positioned for those who wish to indulge in a spot of golf or horse riding, with excellent facilities nearby for both activities.
Suggested Cruises from Carrick-On-Shannon:
Carrick-on-Shannon – Belturbet (One Week), Carrick on Shannon-Banagher (One Week), Pay and Play - Golfing Cruise (One Week)

| By Road - From Dublin Airport: Follow signs for Dublin city Centre and take the exit for M50 southbound. This is a toll road (cars cost €1.30) but it is a very direct route onto the road for the West and cuts out the city centre. Take the West (Lucan) N4 exit. Follow the main N4 signs to Kinnegad, Mullingar, Longford and Carrick-on-Shannon. Follow the Town Centre sign at the roundabout approaching Carrick on-Shannon, take a right turn at the clock in the middle of the town and you will find Crown Blue Line about 400 metres further on. |
