New to Boating Holidays? New to Boating Holidays?

Boating is easy!

Who are Boating Holidays Suitable for?

Boating holidays are suitable for anyone who wishes to see Europe from a different perspective. We have a wide range of spacious and comfortable cruisers, located in bases all over Europe for you to choose from.

Cruising always happens at slow speeds, at around 3-4 knots (a brisk walking pace) so there is plenty of time to manoeuvre, whilst watching the world slip by. Boats don’t have brakes so you simply allow time for the boat to glide to a halt, or use reverse gear if needed.

We have created an exclusive DVD specifically to help newcomers understand how easy it is to enjoy a cruising holiday. Clips from the DVD will be coming soon to the website.

How do I decide where to go?

Navigate this website – you will find the regions page most useful for deciding where to go – in each region we offer a number of cruising suggestions – simply pick which one suits you and you will see the boats that we have in those regions. The cruising suggestions on this site list the number of locks and the distance covered – if you are planning a round trip, you can stick to the suggestion, or take it more easily if you prefer (as long as you get the boat back to the base!)  Our Cruising Regions »

Which boat should I choose?

All of our boats are maintained to a high standard – however, some are newer than others, so we have grouped the newest boats into our ‘Elite Class’. The rest of the range falls into our Traditional class, which tend to be slightly cheaper, but are still up to the same Crown Blue Line standard.

The most important thing you will need to know before choosing your boat is the number of berths you require. You will see the number of berths on the boat information – the rest is up to you!  Our Fleet »

How do I get to the base?

From the UK, many of our bases are located near to destinations served by new low-cost airlines, alternatively, many of our clients drive to the bases – there are comprehensive travel instructions on this website. Crown Blue Line can organise transfers for you and can re-position you or your car should you take a one way cruise.  Our Bases »

What happens when I get to the base?

You must register at reception on arrival – they will give you the keys to your boat, and an information pack. You will be invited to step on board and make yourself comfortable. Once you are ready, a member of the team will meet you on board your boat to brief you on the boat and it’s controls. You will be taken out onto the water for a demonstration and training on handling the boat from the base before being handed the keys and making good your departure!

What happens if we have further questions?

The base staff are at your disposal seven days a week - we also have an emergency number if you need to talk to someone urgently.
